Blog Giveaway: vintage fabric lavender rabbit

I blogged a little while ago about my new vintage fabric lavender rabbits and how they reminded me of my childhood spirograph toy. It kept me amused for hours - who needs a Wii when you can play with a pencil and some plastic cogs to make hundreds of geeky patterns?!

I think my all time favourite childhood Christmas present was my Sindy house. I loved it the minute I set eyes on it that Christmas morning, probably around 1983. My dedicated Father stayed up most of the night putting it together on Christmas Eve!

So in the spirit of nostalgia and with the festive gift-giving season around the corner, I'm going to run a blog giveaway where you tell me your favourite childhood Christmas present!

How to enter
Leave a comment below telling me your favourite childhood Christmas present. The winner will be picked at random on November 22nd.
**If you enter this giveaway, please state clearly your email address, OR your Facebook/Twitter/Etsy username, so I can contact you in case you win**

The prize
Up for grabs is a Spirograph lavender rabbit in orange and yellow.
This giveaway is open to worldwide entries, but I am afraid I cannot post this rabbit to Australia due to strict custom restrictions on dried lavender.

Dates
This giveaway runs from the 8th November 2010 to Midnight (GMT) 22nd November 2010.

Good Luck!

I am also currently offering free worldwide shipping on all Vintage Fabric Totes and Clutch Purses from 25th October until Christmas Day on December 25th in my Etsy store

My sister and I would spend hours playing with our Fisher Price school and farm, I still have them and now my children play with them.
I also can remember playing with a spirograph, but getting frustrated when the pins that were supposed to hold them still would move!!
Great giveaway, count me in!

I am so deeply in love with these rabbits for a long time now....I would be so happy to win one of the rabbits...or at least a leg or nose or a tail...

My favourite childhood Xmas present was a big Lego Hospital - i loved it and played with it for a long time. But on that Xmas eve my father was playing with it :-)

Nice work on the rabbits!

My favorite childhood Christmas present was Barbie. My sister and I played with them for hours, and that's where I learned to sew-- making clothes for Barbie.

OMG how cute are those! My fav childhood presents were those giant black plastic cases full of crayons, markers & colored pencils. They were always terrible quality but I'd spend the rest of Christmas vacation using them.

My favourite childhood Christmas present was a big white teddybear. I loved him so much: his name was Fiocco di neve (snowflake) and I carried him everywhere. It was almost as big as me. So sad it got damaged and I had to throw it away ><
Please enter me, I love that rabbit!

I'm going to sound like such such a weirdo, but my favorite childhood Christmas present was a closet organization system. It was made of white wire shelving that Dad and I customized and he built for me. I Absolutely loved it! I have always had a passion for personal organization and this was the ultimate chance for me to rearrange and display my beloved stuffed animals and vintage handbags. Plus, it was a lot of fun to do it with my dad. I was 13 or 14.

Adorable bunnies by the way! Love them!

My favorite christmas present was this stuffed rabbit I had seen in a store a couple weeks earlier and fell in love with. I was 5 and had NO idea my parents would go back and get it. It was a "Christmas Miracle" in my eyes.

My Favorite Childhood Christmas has to be spending the whole day playing the new Super Nintendo games Santa brought me and my brother! 1994 was great.

Interesting question. The first memorable X-mas gift that comes to mind was my Baby Alive (the original from the 1970s). Amazed that she would really eat and then really go to the bathroom. I understand that doll has made a resurgence in recent years.

Thanks for the chance to win your precious rabbit.

I grew up in the early 80's and I loved Dolls - my most memorable Christmas gift by far - is my Cabbage Patch Doll (Vannesa) whom my mom stood in line for while we were on vacation in California, we were from a tiny town in Canada and there were no Cabbage Patch dolls yet, for at least a year, I was the only girl that I knew that had the coveted doll! I adored her. My daughter now has one that she loves!

These rabbits are beyond cute. (I'm off to check out your shop after this.) My favorite Christmas gift, that I remember, was my Cricket doll. She was almost as big as me and came with different outfits and cassettes - she'd tell you stories. The toy I can remember playing with the most though, was my lincoln logs. :) Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

When I was about five (a zillion years ago), I received a Coca-Cola truck, that had a little dolly to wheel out the cases of bottled Coke. My parents owned a store, so I guess I was fascinated with delivery trucks!

My favorite year ever was the year we actually got coal in our stockings, but that wasn't childhood that was when I was in college and we were so poor that my gift that year was that I got to come home for Christmas. As far as childhood gift goes, Mom once made me a set of fluffy sheep that I adored. They were made with that fluffy, synthetic sherpa fabric and there was a momma sheep big enough for me to ride at the time (I was still an only child, so I was *young*) and she had three little lambs that matched.

I was given a small red and yellow cash register. It was made of tin with a red tin drawer that popped out with a 'ding' when you pushed down the lever to open the cash drawer. It looked so old fashioned - I really loved it and the play money that came with it. Thanks for making me dig up this memory! and for the lovely giveaway.

what a fun give away!!

My favorite childhood christmas present was a set of mystery novels that I read and read and read for the next few months in the quiet of my room. I loved getting lost in the pages and falling into the stories. My parents gave me that year the gift of loving to read!

My favorite childhood present was my very first Polly Pocket set (the old kind, that still fit in your pocket!). Not only do I -still- love those toys, but at the time it was the typical "everyone has one but me" so I was so happy to finally be able to be part of the 'cool kids' ^_^;

My mum made me a shop (or got a local joiner to). I suppose really you could say it was a mini-book shelf to waist height and then for the top half she made a pair of curtains so I could stand behind it and be open or closed. She painted it up, and so my love of retail was born.
